Over time, signs of aging can appear on the face and neck due to gravity, sun exposure, and even the natural stresses of life. Dr. Swail’s facelift/necklift procedure is designed to improve the visible signs of aging in the face and neck. The common signs of aging treated by a facelift include:
Sagging skin tissue in the midfacial region
Deep creases below the lower eyelids
Deep creases along the nose that extend to the corner of the mouth
Fat that has fallen or is displaced
Jowls created by a loss of muscle tone in the lower face
Loose skin and excess fat deposits that may exist under the chin and jaw
All of these signs of aging can make a person look and feel older than he or she actually is. In some cases, a facelift/necklift might be performed in conjunction with a brow lift or blepharoplasty to deliver the very best results for each individual patient.
Facelift/Necklift Procedure
A facelift/necklift begins with an incision behind the hairline to avoid and minimize visible scarring. Once the incision is made, excess fat and tissue can be removed and repositioned to create a more desirable facial contour. Once the desired contour is created, the skin is re-draped over the face and excess skin is removed. After a facelift procedure is complete, the results will be visible once swelling and bruising subside. The final results will restore

Dr. Jeffrey Swail is a board-certified plastic surgeon and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada, the Colorado Medical Society, and the Boulder County Medical Society.
Originally from Winnipeg, Canada, he earned his medical degree in 1989 and completed surgical training at Queen’s University and Dalhousie University.
For more than a decade, Dr. Swail has volunteered his skills on surgical mission trips, providing cleft lip and palate care to children in the Philippines through Mending Faces, where he serves as Chair of Surgical Services. He received the organization’s Humanitarian Award in 2007.
