Morpheus8 Procedure
Morpheus8 treatment at Boulder Valley Plastic Surgery uses handpieces containing microneedling configured fractional tips. Devices can vary slightly depending on whether or not the treatment is on the face or the body, as the size of the treatment area comes into play.
The fractional-tipped devices deliver radiofrequency energy to the treatment area at multiple subdermal depths. They have the ability to quickly deliver these multiple-depth treatments in intervals as quick as a few milliseconds with minimal discomfort to the patient. The process is safe on most skin types.
Before undergoing the procedure, a topical numbing cream is utilized to cover the treatment area, which minimizes discomfort without the need for either IV sedation or anesthesia. Your Boulder Valley Plastic Surgery expert will then be prepared to use the fractional-tipped Morpheus8 device, with a custom microneedle variation that is designed for each specific client.
The procedure time can vary significantly depending on the size of the treatment area, but most procedures generally fall somewhere around the 90 minute mark.
Morpheus 8 Results and Recovery
Normal daily activities are available to Morpheus8 patients immediately following the completion of the procedure. The only side effects, minimal at worst, could be slight swelling and bruising. These can be counteracted with an ice pack following your procedure. Some patients have noted that their face felt slightly tight following their Morpheus8 treatment, but this should revert back to normal within a few hours at most.
There are both immediate results for Morpheus8 and results that are revealed over time. Final results are generally revealed 4-6 weeks after the procedure. Patients will notice a younger, firmer appearance and could potentially see significant improvement in skin complexion as well! Originally from Winnipeg, Canada, he earned his medical degree in 1989 and completed surgical training at Queen’s University and Dalhousie University.
For more than a decade, Dr. Swail has volunteered his skills on surgical mission trips, providing cleft lip and palate care to children in the Philippines through Mending Faces, where he serves as Chair of Surgical Services. He received the organization’s Humanitarian Award in 2007.
